Comments Requested on Criteria for Blood Pressure Devices
The American Medical Association (AMA), in cooperation with the American Heart Association (AHA), is soliciting comments on criteria for Blood Pressure devices that produce clinically accurate readings. The Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance) is supporting this effort with the industry as a whole, to provide input on device validation. PCHAlliance has certified products related to hypertension, through the Continua Design Guidelines.
NORC at the University of Chicago, an independent research institution, on behalf of AMA and AHA, is gathering comments on the draft criteria. “NORC welcomes feedback from manufacturers, vendors, wholesalers, and any other stakeholders involved in the use of automated professional or out-of-office pressure monitors. We are particularly interested in feedback on the feasibility and clarity of these proposed criteria.”
To submit feedback, please complete the Criteria Feedback Form by July 20.
