PCHAlliance at HIMSS18: A Successful Showing for Connected Consumer Health

Apr 04, 2018

Personal connected health was front and center at the HIMSS 2018 Global Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas! PCHAlliance, along with many of our member companies, hosted a series of activities during the conference, including the Connected Health Experience pavilion, symposia, numerous dinners, receptions and informal networking opportunities that created opportunities for our organization and our members. Here are a few of the highlights….

Standing room only events hosted by PCHAlliance attracted over 900 attendees interested in connected health technologies -- to improve health, wellness and disease management, empower consumer wellness and improve patient care.

We started the week off with the Digital and Personal Connected Health Forum, co-hosted with HIMSS Media.  This full-day event attracted over 200 attendees from all sectors, and focused on the application of connected health technologies to improve efficiencies and patient outcomes, and the tools and insights needed to ensure sustained success. On opening day of HIMSS18, our two-day Innovation Leaders Program featured speakers and panel sessions covering a range of key topics, from emerging connected technologies and care delivery to health and wellness in patient, consumer and employee populations.

Throughout the week, PCHAlliance hosted  a number of additional activities, including deep-dive programs, and explored some of the hottest topics in technology-enabled health and wellness, including:

  • Emerging Healthcare Technologies Forum
  • Aging & Technology Workshop
  • Digital Therapeutics in Treatment and Prevention
  • Applied AI and Process Automation Workshop
  • Innovation Roundtable
  • Challenges of Digital Medicine Forum

PCHAlliance's bustling Connected Health Experience pavilion showcased a range of innovative startup, early stage and established companies with disruptive health technologies. We hosted 59 exhibitors and 33 presentations, attracting attendees over a three-day period. During a networking reception where PCHAlliance members, speakers and key partners came together, PCHAlliance and WEGO Health announced that Get Real Health won the first 'Flip the Patient Challenge’.  This effort was created to encourage innovators to collaborate with patient leaders on the design, development and deployment of their solutions. The winner received a monetary award of $5,000, which will go towards consulting services provided by patient subject matter experts who are active in WEGO Health’s patient leader community. WEGO Health is a PCHAlliance member organization.

PCHAlliance also facilitated the first meeting of the new Digital Health Collaborative, an initiative which was established during the 2017 Connected Health Conference in Boston. Initial goals of the Collaborative will focus on working across ecosystems to develop best practices, share lessons learned and leverage existing resources to fuel health innovation and regional growth.

PCHAlliance is appreciative of the support offered by our partners, and especially our sponsors, for helping create a dynamic and highly engaging connected health presence at HIMSS18!
