ARLINGTON, VA, March 07, 2018 -- The Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance), a HIMSS organization, today announced that the European Connected Health Alliance (ECHAlliance) has joined the 2018 Connected Health Conference as a Global Partner.

"We are delighted to extend our partnership with PCHAlliance, to further strengthen cross-border collaborations, knowledge exchange and opportunities to drive the adoption of connected health technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of health, wellness and social care," said Brian O'Connor, Chair, ECHAlliance. "The Connected Health Conference is an important global platform for advancing technology-enabled health and wellness for all citizens."

PCHAlliance and ECHAlliance represent two leading organizations that share common goals and engage in complementary efforts. Their ongoing strategic partnership focuses on thought leadership activities, policy initiatives and industry events to advance the field. The ECHAlliance will host a special workshop at the 2018 Connected Health Conference, bringing together stakeholders from the US, Canada, Europe and China to exchange views and strategies, explore partnerships, and discuss challenges and opportunities, such as interoperability standards, data-governance, and market access from both side of the Atlantic.

"We are pleased to build on our collaboration with ECHAlliance, to bring important perspective and thought leadership from the European Union to CHC18," added Rich Scarfo, Vice President, PCHAlliance, and Director of the Connected Health Conference. "Including important initiatives being implemented by forward-looking countries in the EU and around the world has always been a cornerstone of our event."

Established International Partnership to Advance Connected Health

In September 2017, PCHAlliance and ECHAlliance announced a strategic partnership to advance the adoption and long-term use of personal connected health technologies. These two leading organizations share the same goal and engage in complementary efforts, and together are focusing on thought leadership activities, policy initiatives and industry events to advance the field.

In 2017, ECHAlliance was appointed an International Strategic Partner of the EU Council by the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia, which holds the Presidency of the Council. In this role, ECHAlliance is creating an agenda of activities around the concept of the Digital Health Society (DHS), and launching a large collaborative work, an ecosystem, with key EU stakeholders representing policy-makers, citizens, health professionals, scientists, companies and payers.

Presented by PCHAlliance, in partnership with Partners Connected Health, the Connected Health Conference will showcase forward-thinking approaches and technologies that are driving integration of connected health into consumer health and care delivery. This year's Conference kicks off with an Immersion Day, featuring deep dive sessions and workshops, followed by two days of dynamic programming, networking and exhibits. CHC18 takes place October 17-19 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
